Major Event Days

You’ve spotted MajorEventDaysBot in your logs.

It’s ours. We collect public event listings from UK venues so people living and travelling nearby can plan around big crowds. Here’s what it does, and how to stop it if you’d rather it didn’t.

What it fetches

• Public event and fixture listings: dates, times, event names and venue.
• Publicly posted venue information, such as capacity and travel advice.

It doesn’t log in, submit forms, buy tickets or collect personal data.

How it behaves

• Respects robots.txt, including Crawl-delay, and each site’s terms of use.
• Visits each listing at most once a day, overnight UK time, making one request at a time with pauses in between.
• Fetches only the few listing pages it needs. It never follows links around your site.
• Always identifies itself with the user-agent above.

Blocking or limiting it

Add this to your robots.txt to block it completely:
